Summer Activities – Photography Week

We Learn the Secrets of Photography

During the photography week, our youngest students learned the principle that everything in photography is “upside down”, that is:
– the negative gives a positive,
– camera obscura inverts the image,
– when you are moving, you cannot be seen in the picture,
– when you arrange dark objects on photo paper, as a result, the paper turns black and the objects leave a bright print!

It is a truly magical world! What have we learned? We already know what photography, luxography and cyanotype is, what Photoshop can do, how the camera obscura works, how long ago the first photos were taken and what the “decisive moment” is. We also visited a real photo warehouse and worked in the darkroom. Many thanks to BIELEC – House of Photography and Painting for making this space available to us!

Summer Activities – Sailing on Bagry

Water Sports and a Trip to Bagry

Summer time is also a moment for us to learn more about water sports. So we had the opportunity to meet famous Polish sailors, learn basic sailing weaves and sing shanties – Polish and English. Each of these activities was interesting, but the fun didn’t stop there. We also went to Bagry, where we sailed together. The weather was fine then, so we could eat ice cream and splash in the water as well. It was a really unforgettable week!

Summer Activities – Tropical Island

Our Own Island in the School Yard

One of the first things our students did during their summer vacation days at school was to build their own tropical island. A bit of art materials and creativity was enough to stimulate their imagination and move to a distant land without the need for long journeys. On that day, they were accompanied by a truly tropical heat, so getting into the climate of warm countries became even easier. Despite the high temperature, the students did not give up and, refreshed with lemonade, finished their work to later play sailors and pirates.
